Just sent some, Dan... but Paypal's been flaky for me this past week. It claims it won't clear until the 23rd... and I have no idea why.

Eef, this was dropping! Z, how is the donation situation now? Are we too late or did we make it? If the meter is right, we're still behind.

Z, I keep thinking to myself that rather than post the donation threads on the first of the month run it continually, it will give people more notice that it needs to be paid and may help keep it going.
I have a few other suggestions that have been made before (cafepress t-shirts coffee mugs, mouse pads, bumperstickers, etc) that would help out. And although the socialists scream about it every time it's brought up how about a "defenders of the forum" forum with spiffy things, custom portraits for games, recordings from IW radio, tips for Undermountain, access to special cafepress merchandise not open to the public, etc. art commisions (alot of members do alot of digital art) and perhaps requests could be made there for custom avatars, character pics, etc with an IW seal. Sluggy Freelance does something similar with their "defenders of the nifty" they get perks which are relatively transparent to nonsubscribers. Ive seen many of these suggestions many times over, but I haven't seen a single one of them implemented as a way to help support IW. IW cannot continue by always resorting to last minute fund raising, sooner or later that method will fail, and then IW will die, at least temporarily, and I think that will be a much sadder state of affairs than having a dozen or so members with special perks that are wholly transparent to the rest of us. IW is my home on the net and I hate to think of it going away because easy to implement solutions weren't taken advantage of for fear of alienating one or two members.

I couldn't do much this time Z, got a new medical expense, so probably won't be able to help as often as I'd like.
I'd suggest the merchendising idea, I like the cafepress shirts, nicer than my cheepo ones I normaly get. It's a good idea. Hands up people who'd want an Ironworks T-shirt *raises hand*
