But if your in the English speaking world (as distinct from the American English world ), you won't know what the above means until you replace Broadway with Mayfair.

That is actually quite clever when you think about it, although I did manage to figure it out, and was pleased that I could get confirmation from the thread (through Azred)

I vote Mayfair

I'm confused?

She didn't have to stay there?

Agreed, that was lame.

Your right, she didnt have to stay there. So why is she bankrupt. Could she not drive away?

Sorry, not a decent puzzle.

I see evidence that even though there was a clue presented that some thought was too obvious, it wasn't

There's a reason, folks, there's a reason. And when you hear it, you may get a wee bit angry for just a moment. Try not to let it out, though, okay?

Binky and Lavi - ever heard of a board game called Monopoly? Now - is it really such a bad puzzle when you think in that light?

Yeah, me and Binky have monopoly, but we dont have a broadway on that board! Thats where I lost the plot!

We have Mayfair as the most expensive, so thats where it got really confusing!!!

We aint all American dont forget!

ohhh monopoly!

we have Mayfair on our board, yeah I was wondering why she had to stay there, I was confused, Mayfair makes it clear however.

good puzzle, but hard for non Americans.

(fine fine, I'll agree America created monopoly, and the origional game had Broadway, so really you are right)

Nononono Lavi and Intrepid - go look at the puzzle that was given at the very top - there was no mention of Broadway. The puzzle was the same for Americans and non-Americans . The clue given by Azred is what put you off. The puzzle just connects a car a hotel and bankruptcy. While Azred's clue was a little offputting, it was what gave it away to me. How many hotels set you back 2000 of anything. What does a hotel on Mayfair cast - 2000 - connection = Monopoly. Assumption = Americans use different titles for their streets or stations to make this universal game sell beter. So don't blame the puzzle guys it was good.
