What be thy favourite quote or line from a film, song or book?, me personally I'm a fan of mr Tyler Durden with.......
/ / / / THIS IS YOUR LIFE,AND ITS ENDING ONE MINUTE AT A TIME. / How obvious but utterly brilliant is that! / P.S. I would have used the !walk through the valley of death" speech from Pulp Fiction, but to avoid lots of messages correcting me I wont bother. I look forward to reading yours soon, cheers guys. My favourite line if not speech is from Pulp Fiction:
I have to translate it from German, so correct me if the wording is not exactly right: It is the scene in which John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson are in the back of a car with a hostage sitting in between them. All of a sudden Travolta accidentally shoots the poor fellow in the head, Jackson looks at Travolta with an expression of complete disbelief, bewilderment and consternation, then Travolta shrugs and says to him, in an attempt to justify himself: "Hey, we hit a bump !" I know it is very gross, but I have never ever laughed so hard in my life. ------------------ So long ! I Can't remember what it from, why it was said but it struck my as profound.
'Life is unfair.' 'True, but I hate life to be fair.' 'What, why?' 'Just think, all the bad things happen to you for a reason.' |

One of my husband's favorite movie quotes is from "They Live, We Sleep":
"I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick a**, and I'm all out of bubblegum." I collect quotes - so it's impossible for me to name just one. Here is one I like tho: If you think you're too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito. ~ Anna Roddick~ Or wait! What about this one? I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day! ------------------ Having abandoned my search for truth, I am now looking for a good Fantasy. [This message has been edited by bilqis (edited 03-06-2001).] |

There are so many lines I can't think tonight. Mmmm.
Recently I watched Stephen King's "Deloris Clayborn": "Sometimes being a bitch is all you have to hang onto." Think of a nicer one later ------------------ |

Mordrick: It most certainly was! We got a real kick out of that movie. A much under-rated "B" film!

It seems ironic to me that my favorite quote would be one that has had such a profound effect upon my life, albeit an extremely painful one. This quote has been highly romanticezed in a previous RPG, however the reality of its meaning, and the truth of its message, stands the test of time for all mankind. If we are not careful we may become as evil as the evil that we detest, and sometimes even moreso.
"You who fight against monsters should take care, Unless you yourself become a monster. You who gaze long into the abyss, Because the abyss also gazes into you." Friederick Nietzschie My second favorite quote stands in conjuncion with the first. "Those who forget the mistakes of the past are destined to repeat them". The Relic, ma'am, I agree that is a very wise quote.
(Psst, just between you and I: the author's name is Friedrich Nietzsche, though. Maybe you want to edit your post, before anybody else sees it. ) [This message has been edited by Ramon de Ramon y Ramon (edited 03-06-2001).] |
