high level ability assasination...

manual says it does always backstab damage... but....
1)does it require thief to be behind target like backstab?
2)does it work against creatures immune to backstb?
3)does it work with weapons which normally cant backstab, like two hadned swords, warhammers, maces?
4)does it work with missile weapons?

In order

- no
- no (this is the reason why it's pointless - so many things are immune to backstab)
- don't know (never tried it)
- no, melee only

Assassination is a very cool idea, but it's not that good IMO. Apart from the immunity that most good monsters get, generally theives don't get enough attacks to make it worthwhile - perhaps the classic kensai dualed to theif could make good use of it (how about that and kai together!!!).

it will work even if you are fighting toe to toe. i THINK it is only with thief weapons, but im not too sure. im not positive if it works with missle weapons, and im quite positive it wont work against creatures that cant be backstabbed, but ive been known to be wrong in the past.
