Well, I dont know if they're gonna make a new BG-game (I hope so!), but you can import your BG2 character to the new game Neverwinter Nights, which will be released in March or something.

see ya!

Just a side note that importing your character to NWN will be completely pointless. Since BG uses 2E rules and NWN uses 3E the conversion of skills, stats, saves, etc. would be extremely difficult due to the major differences between the two rulesets. The reason it even says you can import in BGII is because NWN was originally based on 2E but made the switch to 3E after BGII was already out (I believe.)

You can still import, but you would lose your stats, items, spells and kit (if you had one) and be reverted back to level 1 where you have to assign your stats via a point buy system and skills again. As a matter of fact, the only thing you keep is your name.

Sucks, doesn't it?

yup, this sucks. i really wish that either NWN would allow some kind of meaningful import or that this message did not appear in BG2.

but you _do_ get to keep your stats, albeit modified to within racial/class maximums, at least you did the last i heard. 3e uses the same basic stats as 2e IIRC.
