Ok, this may sound weird but it's something that i've been wondering about for a while. If your Canadian and know about the military you'll be able to answer this. Canada is part of the British Commonwealth the same as Australia. Now British ships have H.M.S, which I think stands for Her Majesty's Ship, before there names and Aussie ships have H.M.A.S, Her Majesty's Australian Ship, before there names. So do Canadian ships have H.M.C.S before there names? The same thing applies to the air force. Britan has the R.A.F, Australia has the R.A.A.F so does Canada have the R.C.A.F?

You know if you add an extra 'A' to H.M.A.S it would be a terrorist group

The answer to both questions is yes. HMCS and RCAF.
edit> as recently as ten years ago, anyways. They did unify the services a while back (the morons), not sure if the names still apply. [ 02-14-2003, 07:35 AM: Message edited by: Sir Krustin ]

The airforce is actually very respectable, a fleet of fairly up to date F18s. Unfortunately, Chretien cancelled the conservative helicopter order and all our helicopters are 50 years old (or thereabouts). As for the RCMP, we always called them "Gravel Road Cops" (G.R.C. in french)
