Im considering getting a second game(have and have beaten bg1 and totsc) and I was wondering if I should get BG2 or one of the other games, such as icewind dale. Whats your opinion?

Get BG2. Its indisputably better. (someone is sure to dispute this anyway)

But IWD and IWD are great as well. Just not as great. PS:T beats them all though. Best of the lot.

I would agree with ^ Go for BG2. Icewind Dale is great in that you can create every single member of your party (have to in fact). IWD is also much more linear, less options for exploring and doing your own thing, not as much interaction with NPC's, and far more combat intensive. IWD is also quite a bit shorter.

Personally I really like both of them, and have thoroughly enjoyed both. But if you're only going to get one, go for BG2.

Get BG2!

I've completed them all, and BG2 is the best probs.

i have won all the Baldurs and Icewinds, Get BG2... its a far better game than Icewind. Personally, I have to say that I was not all that impressed with Icewind/Heart of Winter. i didnt like the idea of creating your party. i think its far more exciting exploring and meeting new characters with all different personalities that may join your party. That to me is fun.

BG 2 is the best game ive played so far, get it!! Great story too, and the interactions between the NPCs just show how in depth the game is.

There is nothing in IWD that would stand up as a reason to get it instead of BG2. Black Isle just couldn´t repeat what they did in Fallouts. It´s easy to see that BG2 has taken much more working hours.

I would go for BG2. Theres more areas, more playing time, you hit higher levels and you CAN create your own party. If you do get SoA, get ToB as well.

PS. Much better fights and equipment in BG2 as well

All it would take was some carefully intergrated portrait, item and sound files into the IWD folder of your hard drive and....er, I've gotta go experiment with something, brb
