Speculation is what hypes up a game. Good or bad attention is still just that; Attention. I would advise that you avoid NWN's forums everywhere (good god don't go anywhere near the official forums) for the next few months if you cannot bear to see some hype about this game. As always the internet, being an informational exchange highway, is filled with it.

Personally I will probably be buying it to play the single player and with the hope that the multiplayer side wont be as trashed as I think it will be - this is mainly because I appreciate a good single player game as much as multiplayer.

I have also seen what Obsidian did to KOTOR2 (whether because of preasure from LucasArts or not, I don't know): that and what I am reading here, elsewhere, and especially BIOWARE's forums makes me and alot of others, nervous. This information we are bandying about is not speculation but what Obsidian are putting out. That and Obsidian's track record thus far with games makes everyone think we're going down a very similar road to KOTOR2.
Now I am not a person to think badly of any computer company, generally, as I work in the IT sector (even Microsoft believe it or not ) and have an understanding to a degree of what some pressures and the limitations and headaches the massive range of PC hardware out there can give to a game developer. So for me to have doubts about a company and the product they are kicking out means that I have not based my facts of assumption and flaming. BTW I know one person that has helped in the BETA of NWN2 and he is not denying any of what is being said about the PW/Mulitplayer side.

If the end product is much better than we're thinking it's going to be then fantastic: I will be the first to acknowledge my erroneous "assumptions"

P.S. An observation on the whole debate whether here or on BIOWARE's forums- People who say "so what? what does it matter if there's no PW" clearly have no stake in the PW area and I get the feeling could care less. What if the Single Player side was being junked completely in favour of the PW/Multiplayer side? I suspect we'd hear screaming from other corner's of the discussion table - and rightly so! In my mind single player and multiplayer are eacha s valid as the other.
