Think this is worth it?

With my current solo sorcerer, I have reached Kuldahar and am at level 24. My question is this: I recently ran into the cloak of Mystra (or whatever it is called) that gives 5/+1 damage resistance to mages. My dilemma: Since I am drow, I can safely add on a mage level to my character to wear this and it's even more useful HoF version which grants 15/+3 damage resistance. The only useful cloak that I have found so far is a cloak of protection +1, and it gives me no armor class since I am holding Sulo's Hook in the off hand (deflection +3).

So, should I add a mage level? The ONLY advantage will be the cloaks, since my INT is 6 so I can't cast mage spells.

Also, while I'm at it, how do you take screenshots of the game? There have been several memerable moments so far in the game that I wish I had shots of: The entire horde fortress garrison dead in a circle around me, a melee of allied bonegaurds holding off enemy necromancers and crystal golems as I take on Sherincal by myself, a full 5 minute fight in front of the statue of Lysan between me (with Tenser's) and Lysara (with an ice blade), etc. It's been exciting, I wish I had shots

IMO dont take the mage level.

There must be some other cloaks. Wasnt there a cloak of displacement somewhere? or the drow piwawfi cloak?
And on a side notice, if you found nothing at all why not use the winter wolf/ yeti cloak (very weak protection, but better than nothing from what youre currently wearing).

And as for screenshots, doesnt PrintScreen work?

Well, this probably doesnt help now, but in the severed hand i found Chain of Drakkas, which is really cool. You dont need armor proficieny for it, and it doesnt do anything to your spellcasting.

(I know this aint fair... but [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] i liked it so much that i used cheats [img]graemlins/1disgust.gif[/img] to put it on my solo battleguard when i started again...)

Its HoF incarnation will be fairly useful, so taking it wouldn't be that bad of an idea, not to mention you'll get a feat for that level too, which you can put into something useful.

I know about Drakkas' Chain, but the cloak of mystra is an actual cloak, not a robe or armor. I fully intend on using that armor.

I've actually decided that I WILL take the mage level. I checked my manual which I found earlier today, and sorcerers gain NIL for progressing from lvl 29 to 30.

ZFR, the button labeled prt scr does nothing when I press it. Right button? I may not have the right outside program for it...

Print Screen takes a shot of the screen alright.

It's up to you to paste it in a paint-type program and save it [img]tongue.gif[/img] (MSPaint works well for this, paste the screenshot in it and save as jpeg... I think newer versions can do that, if not, find a program that can)

I remember most games having a preset folder called "Screenshots," so that when you pressed the "Print Scrn" button (next to F12) it automatically got saved within that folder (usually as a .bmp image). It's been so long since I've played Icewind Dale 2, that I cannot remember if that game had a preset folder. Anyway, check for it first. Otherwise, like Neo said, you'll hafta paste what you copied (only one at a time--if you click it again, the prior one gets overwritten) into a program such as Paint or Photoshop, etc. Hmmm...I do remember a game that actually had the F12 assigned as the button to press to take snapshots...I'll get back to ya when I remember--lol...

Thanks, I didn't realise that print screen just copied the page (I was expecting a window to appear). I don't have a program to put it on yet, but I'm getting one soon.

I don't know, my Print Screen always saved a shot in the ScrnShot folder. I have around 320 megabytes of them now.
