Florida Vacation...Need Advice
I want to go either up North to Vermont, Boston, NY...and just tour stuff or South to Florida. We don't have a big budget and if we went to Disney World, we might only afford one day just to say we went and experienced something. There's also a shale tour of some kind in Florida and the weather is obviously more agreeable. Also, maybe I can finally meet Choc and his servant Ziroc.
If I go North, we'd try to see the Statue of Liberty, go to Hershey's, and maybe visit a Vermont Sugar House where the world's best Maple syrup comes from. Anybody got any ideas? Travelling 30/March through 09/April.

Re: Going on Vacation...Need Advice
It's decided we're going to Florida, but cannot afford even one day at Disney World. It's too dang expensive! So, what can we do in Florida? I've heard they have the best sea shells and zoo in the US (for the kids). What else can I do there?

Re: Florida Vacation...Need Advice
Pick a destination, or at least an area, then we can help you better.
Titusville has Kennedy Space Center (expensive) and the Merritt Island National Wildlife Preserve (not expensive). Brevard county in general has nice beaches. Universal Orlando has the Harry Potter amusement park, but it may also be a budget buster, go here... http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/ . Let us know what area you want to go to. Ziroc can tell you more about Lakeland and the west coast area better than I.

I'll get some ideas for ya, and post them in a bit. Yeah, Disney is crazy priced.. A fun place with rollercoasters in Tampa is Busch Gardens.. lots of rides.. much like Kings Island. More in a bit!

Re: Florida Vacation Not Happening...New Destination, Atlanta, GA
Due to cost, we've decided we can't make Florida work, but we can do Atlanta for half the cost! There's seeminly loads to do there for the family, so GA is where we'll be. Also, a gem show is coming to Raleigh, NC on the 30th, the first day I took off for PTO. I am pretty excited about that because now I can have all the rocks we found up in the mountains last year be evaluated, maybe sold, some cut or polished up...
Anybody from Georgia round here?
