I just finshed chapter 1 of the OC (official campaign), and was nearly bored to tears by it. Does the story ever pick up, or does it continue, just sloooowly plodding along? Should i continue it or just skip to SoU and HoTU? Any help would be appreciated.

It gets better, but not massively. NWNs OC is the weakest of the three by far.

some of the reviews ive been reading say that chapter 1 is a bit of a snore, but it then picks up drastically from chapter 2. Im taking it very slowly and cautiosly through chapter 1, getting all the XP I can and im having a great time, i must admit that i havent uncovered much in regards to the story as im doing all the side quests i can.......Im level 6 and havent even been to the peninsula district yet......

go to chapter two.. its more interesting.. but SOU and HOTU is better, cinematics and everything (and you can start lvl 1 in SOU).
but its interesting to play the OCC if its your first time.
