Dawn Ring - Working for the temple (spoilers)

After destroying the cult of the eyeless and supplying "Sir" Sarles with illithium you are asked to go tho speak to someone in the temple of landather after their Dawn Ring was stolen. My problem is that earlier in the game I completely ransacked the temple of landather without any of the alarms going off. Now when I go into the temple to speak to this guy about the Dawn Ring the alarm goes off, even though I am not stealing anything. I have tried invisibility magic to sneak in and out but the alarm always goes off after I talk to him. Any suggestions on what I should do?

here is something you shouldnt have done: do not ransack any temple. They know! HELM SEES ALL, KNOW THAT, AND BE JUDGED!

I'm very remorseful for what I have done, shouldn't that count for something? Obviously not, Those alarms keep ringing! OH HELM!

Pssst, i think Helms a pain in the butt to, just dont tell paladins I said that. But hey, you can always CLUA the quest complete and use SK to gain the appropriate EXP and gold.

Im not a religious man, and nor is my protagonist. The temples give good exp and some handy items but thats all. And as far as the unseeying eye cult goes, thats my fault. I just wanted to see if he was really blind, and then he just walked into my Carsomyr, oooowwww.

BIG HINT:

Never steal from a temple unless you're SURE you don't need them anymore.

BTW, the quest really isn't worth that much..you get a pretty lame helm for completing it, and it's not part of the main storyline.

BTW: Shame on you for stealing from Lathander! [img]graemlins/laugh2.gif[/img] Now Talos on the other hand...

the helm of Glory isnt THAT lame, it gives AC bonus of 2 if im correct. Early in the game thats nice.
