Well i'm back into WoW as hard as i tried .

I told my guild i wouldn't come back because quests bore me and 60-70 is way too much work so guess what? My friend gave me his alt account with a 70 warr and 70 druid, so i'm back
I must say playing anything other than a lock seems easy tbh. Warr isn't even that well geared but the arenas are going awesome and i'm actually having fun. I think i've changed my aims in wow - just play to have fun not grind for anything. Raiding... well 25 IS better than 40 but i still dont wana get into that time sink anymore.
Well i'm alot more in control of my wow urges now and i wont let myself get sucked into the 12 hour day sessions on the w-end anymore. TBC seems to be good so far - just a shame i couldn't get a 'lock char Just miss the micro required but at least now i rip rogues a new 1 which feels great cos they seem to get the better of alot of locks nowa days.
Well any1 else almost escape wow ? or those who have, how did you do it ?

Yeah, there is a phase where the novelty wears off and that is potentially where some grow bored and leave. But like you, I decided a good while ago to do only what I ENJOY doing and I am still here having a blast. I played BG's for months, soloe'd for months, then went through a phase of exclusive teaming only but I always did what I felt like doing. That's what keeps me here I guess. Welcome home

Well...I quit, and have been "clean" for five months. I'll tell you why I quit:

Sitting on my damned-uncomfortable computer chair (of the folding metal variety) for 10 hours straight once convinced me that although I had a lot of fun playing wow, my behind did not.

Plus, I'm pretty certain that raiding would suck a lot.

Played a while, stopped for a few months, bought BC and gave that a try and didn't enjoy it. My guild were all 3-4 levels higher, so it seemed like I was playing on my own constantly. Sure there are hundreds of people in the same areas as you, but I liked playing with my friends. They each had their own little "clique" in the guild, the five "leaders" always instanced together, and everyone else sort of scattered with none-guild friends. It wasn't fun.

I seemed to always 'leave' the game for a few months and come back. This time I refused to do that, so not only did I uninstall it anyway, but I junked everything on all my characters (two 60+, two bankers, etc.) and gave it to the 'friends' online that I had.

Haven't played since October/November ish

And the trick is to keep yourself busy. I went through a good few months of trying to get fit(ter), running push/situps/weights everynight, but I don't eat enough of the good stuff because, well, it doesn't affect me, I can rarely put on weight. I started to play football quite a lot more, 2-3 times a week minimum. Then I got a guitar, then college work and my job got on top of me Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't have enough time for WoW anyway!

I am thinking of quitting, but currently there's no substitute other than go to niteclub and get drunk till morning. So I'm sticking with WoW at the moment.

Well I plan to pick up LOTR online too and check it out. Maybe it will replace WoW or maybe not.
