The core temperature of the Sun is normally 27 million degrees Fahrenheit. But in recent years it's climbed to an alarming 49 million degrees, says Dr. Van der Meer, leader of a team of Amsterdam-based space scientists who've been tracking the changes in the Sun.
-----

Someone from Amsterdam would not use Fahrenheit, they would use Centigrade.
They would?
I thought the USA was the only one that used Fahenheit as well as 'MPH'.
If not... well it's STILL a bunch of BS!
But it's an article from an American site... *Of course* they change values from the metrical to the American system. We here in the Netherlands do exactly the same when an American article is talking about Fahrenheit or miles, as the target audience most likely won't be familiar enough with Fahrenheit or miles and translate it back to the metric system to have a better understanding of it anyways. Not that strange, I hope?

On a similar note, that article makes me feel ashamed those scientists are Dutch.

But remember that the word "scientist" is practically a synonym for "politician" or "lawyer"

Well, the UK is tenaciously and for no good reason hanging onto Imperial measures too. I guess it's just us being the USA's lapdog again! Honestly, George Bush, eh? I'm sure it's all his fault somehow

I've heard they're going to build another hotel adjacent to it just off of 170 St. to accomodate the extra tourists and all the sports events we host here.
