I dunno about that last part Sham. When was Britain ever monocultural? Saxons, Angles, Jutes, Picts, Welsh, and Normans all joined up (er...let's leave it at that lol), and that's well before a real empire was built.

I guess this terrible event could have been prevented if Britons were all the same, but that's not the world we live in. Besides, assuming a definable "British people" could be identified, what would be involved in the switch? It's certainly not beyond examination, but aside from the cheap shots that multiculturalism takes whenever something like this happens, the first thoughts that come to my mind are that it's irreversible and ultimately just a scapegoat.

Too right, you know some of these people have been here 25 + years but can't speak a word of English... Oddly enough they can all count in English and all know the value of and can count in £££ pound notes....That's integration for you.
