I am hoping that a mod designer with a sense of humor would introduce comic characters and equipment for BG2. I think it would be great to play as a paladin clown; equipped with floppy shoes of speed or the AHOOGA horn from The Mask (Saz's idea}. What could be better than hitting a Mind Flayer with the pie of death (ranged weapon) or casting an Anvil Drop spell on some poor Beholder. Is anyone elese interested in something like this or have any ideas?

Hehe, I can just see the anvils dropping... sounds like such a good idea. (Un)fortunately, it gets me thinking of Wile E. Coyote, which brings about this idea: a curse item (has to be ACME brand) that causes attacks (magical and unmagical) to comically malfunction? Couldn't you just see yourself casting Magic Missile and watching in horror as it comes back at you slowly, giving you a chance to run? Oh, maybe it's just my strange sense of humor...

If you were using wild magic that is exactly one of the possible outcomes that should be available. Along the same lines why not a belt of levitation. "The golum chases you off the edge of the cliff; you look down; the golum looks down....then begins the slow fall down to the bottom. You could maintain game integrity. Just because your large shield+3 (save vs. anvil drop) looks like a little umbrella doesn't make it bad.

Ya, I have always wanted to play a dwarf fighter that's Yosamity Sam, except two axes instead of guns of course.

antryg: Ooh, that's a good one: golem slowly falling off a cliff chasing a character with a ring of levitation. I could picture it! So funny! How about a pair of rocket skates that increase a charaacters speed dramatically or possibly cast haste? Or, for a paladin clown, a hand buzzer that electrocutes the target on a successful hit?
LordKathen: Yosemite Sam would be good for dual-wielding crossbows, I think. What other abilities or equipment might he have? |
