Dumb (prolly) question...

Hi all,

I have maybe one of the dumbest question ever posted here..

Here it is : i just started playing Icewind Dale, my first step in a role playing game, i never played AD&D and dont know much about the rules, except from what i saw in the game so far...

My question is this :

I started playing with 1 thief, 1 mage, 1 cleric and one warrior. Now that those characters are a bit devellopped (all level 6-7), i created 2 more : a second warrior and a druid.
What i dont get is : She can only use spells listed in the cleric section of the manual, and cant wear armors (like the mage)...So, whats the point? Wearing lower armor than a cleric, and not able to cast the mage's offensive spells...It looks like the druid is the weakest of those 3 characters...or am i totally wrong?

Druids shoul dbe able to wear leather armor. They do get some quite powerful clerical spells that clerics don't get. Plus druids can use more weapons then mage and they get more hitpoints. I am not sure if shapeshifting is implemented in IWD, but that is another of their skills.
