Yes to all your questions, but you should've asked some more that didn't invovle a female character. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Like do you think Shinji is an idiot? Do you think Ikari should be tortured endlessly? What is up with the penguin? And why the heck do the Eva's need to be plugged in? [img]graemlins/1ponder.gif[/img] Gundams don't have to be plugged in, Gears dont' have to be plugged in, but Eva's do???

If you havent you should see the END of Evangelion, which brings the series to a close after leaving you kind of stupified at the end of the series... It's alot like the directors way of... flipping off and cruicifying his fans while also launching many many grenades down their throats and on top of everything else, sticking pipecleaners up their ears... yeap! its a great movie! Only get death and rebirth if you wernet able to make since of the TV series, i also recomend watching the directors commentaries, they have a biblical scholar, the director, the sound/translator lady, and some guy who did the voice of an eva, in a boothe, together, talking about the film, and they try to bring every possible detail together [img]tongue.gif[/img] ... yeah...
anyway that's my two cents... Eva was one of the greatest and most in-depth series ever made, and yet it had such a bizare and twisted shell, noone knows what to make of eva when they first see it but it eventually grows on you and you begin to notice the small hints of inspiration from the book of genesis and revelations... if you want one example: let me put it this way Lillith bears the 7 eyes of god on her mask, the evas each have differint number eyes, Eva 01 has Two eyes, Eva 02 has 4 eyes and Rei's has one eye... Now there are 3 Pagan gods in a particular sect, there is the two-eyed horned god, which is their leader, the four-eyed-two-mouthed demon, and the cyclops... Sound familiar? Askuka's Eva DOES look like it has two mouths at some ponts... two sets of rows of teeth are clearly vissible at some points... So in turn- their eyes ALSO add up to a number... and what would that be? oh! none other thant the 7 eyes of god... and that was a little tid bit for you [img]tongue.gif[/img] just one of the many deep details hidden into the workings of eva, you can watch it again and again and again and figure out something new every time ^_^

I really liked this anime. Bit more than just just mech/ninja/psycho killing lots. Some episodes had deeper meanings, and there was all of the religios under meanings. And End Of was not quite as confusing at the end as the original series.
