PS:T is the best of the infinity series , once you get past the opening section anyway. It has similaritys with BG but the feel of the game is radicaly different. Much darker, much more interesting.

Megabot I was wondering the exact same thing until about a week ago when I got a copy from ebay. (Damn game is impossible to get in Australia any other way).

I was basically hesitant about it. Sure everyone always went on about how good it is, but I've always been hard to please with games (and anything else for that matter) so I could never rely on what people said. The more they put it up, the less I thought of it. Anyway, I got my copy, instaled it and was really unmotivated when I started playing it. Now I am hooked on it like you will not believe though. Sure, it is not Baldur's Gate, but neither is NWN or any other famous D&D game out there. I found that by trying to compare it to something else, I was overlooking at what it really was like. Planescape torment is a bit like Baldur's Gate and far from it. It's one of those things you have to see to understand. The interface is easy to use if you've played BG before though which is a bonus. Other than that? Gameplay (the few hours I've put into it) has been amazing and at last, the game I've heard so much and thought so little about, is right up there with BG1 and BG2 in my book. It might not be as good as BG2 although I cannot fully say this from my own experience, but all games have their good and bad points. I'm sure that this one has it's fair share of both but I am enjoying it and would not critisize it from what I've seen til now. All in all, an amazing game from what I've played so far, however this is my view on the game. Yours could be the total opposite. I'd say try to get your hands on a copy and give it a go. If you liked BG then you should LOVE this, but that is one thing I cannot guarantee. Personally though, I cannot believe I've been without it for so long.

So if you do get your hands on a copy at any stage. Let us know what you think! Hopefully you will be as pleased with it as I am.

If you like the personality's of the party members in BG, you'll really like PS:T. All of the characters are unique, with deep back stories that slowly become revealed. It is strong role playing game, as opposed to NWN, which is more of an action RPG. I love both games, but the story of PS:T is resonant and very deep, while NWN's is okay, but not terribly memorable.
