Help, anyone!
I've been stuck in Underdark trying to get rid of that b***rd Balor, but no luck. Seems like he cannot be beaten. Anyone has any idea how to kick his ass? |

Just make sure that each character engaging him has at least a +3 weapon. Clerics should cast free action on party members to counter his annoying stun ability.

I used minute missles or what ever they are on him but keep your main character out of the room he has a lot of radial spells!

I used either finger of death or disentregrate on him. He died in a couple of second with hardly any damage to my party.

Definitely not unbeatable. I went toe-to-toe with him in melee combat and won (Swashbuckler, Keldorn, Anomen, Minsc). Well, I did throw in a couple of Magic Missiles from Aerie, but for the most part it was an up close and personal battle. So it's even possible to beat a Baalor with basically no tactics.

It depends on what difficulty you were playing on Lord Starshadow. On an easy difficulty the balor is pretty easy to kill in melee.

That's true... I wasn't playing on insane. It's my first time through, so I play with the Core rules. I obviously would try something a bit different if I were playing on Insane. I just wanted to point out that it is possible to take it in melee.

I found lower resistance, followd by a lot of flamestrikes worked really well. I have three clerics right now, so you may need to use other magic, but the idea is still sound. Any similar high dammage single target spell should work.
Its also worth getting whoevers going to fight him with melee weapons to have free action. |
