Could anyone perhaps tell me what's the best strategy to kill that lich in Underdark? One nasty Imprisonment spell and I'm dead! Thanks...

Also, if you summon monsters to take the brunt of the imprisonment spells, you should keep your PC just fine. Otherwise, move your PC and a Mage to the back and let the others do the fight for you. You can always go buy freedom scrolls. I always cast protection from evil just in case. Figure it can't hurt.

<< spoiler >>

Buy Freedom Scrolls from the gnomes in the south part of the Underdark map.

Yup, protection from evil is good in case the lich cast a pit fiend.

that lich is by far THE easiest to kill

you ask why? because he doesnt have spell trigger and chain contigency such shit on. I was playing a solo fighter/assasin back then. when i was told to fight him, i entered his building, and he began to cast some high level spells. I just walk behind him, and one backstab plus couple wacking, he is dead

Spell immunity Abjuration protects against imprisonment or use scrolls of protection against magic or undead. Use spells to remove his defences and hack away. Have an elemental bare the brunt of his attacks and keep your party far apart, to reduce the effect of area spells.

To kill a lich?

Liches can be a pain! I like to set a bunch of traps right where they are gonna pop up (make sure you upgrade trap setting).. and after that, a couple of whacks with a level 3 weapon, and .. toasty! Liches for breakfast!

So its cheap!.. but it works!

There's an even simpler way. I have the game set up to Auto-Pause if enemy sighted. When I FIRST encountered this lich (after getting the magic rope), it paused. I told everybody to attack him. He died during the cut-scene and, when I returned after talking to the other guy, I looted him with no damage taken

The lich in the drow city is even easier. If your game Auto-Pauses when enemy sighted, it'll pause when you first meet him. Tell everybody to attack him. He should die before the cut-scene finishes, although this does not cause a problem. You can return later to loot the git
