I am going to get a new mouse to replace my current crappy one. Should I get an optical or ball mouse? I have heard alot of opinions on both of these.

I went with optical,so far it,s been great. It doesn,t have nearly the problems rolling over coffee and food scraps my old roller mouse had.
Unless your one of those people who doesn,t eat and sleep at their keyboard that is.Just wondering, what problems have you heard about the optical style mouse?

My next mouse will be an optical one. I've heard nothing bad, and I hate the ball!

I have a friend who is probably one of the top 10 fps gamers in my country. He started to use optical, then went back to ball because he said he played so much better with it. He strongly recomends I get a ball mouse. But I do think I will go for optical.

Optical, far better, no need to clean it at all and it doesn't sometimes get "stuck" like ball mice do, also, optical ones are just as good as ball ones for FPS gaming.... I can frag ANYONE if my lag is okay even though I've got an optical mouse.

That,s what I thought. From what I,ve read the optical are more responsive and more precise. As long as you dial them in how you like them, sensitivity wise I mean, they should definately out-perform their little brother.

There is a list? Look I'm very sure that he is good; But, top ten?

This is in NZ remember. There are competitions, clans and such. All the top players know each other as well.
