It started just as a diversion... Checked out a few NWN sites, and lo and behold, found quite a few mods already available for use...

Imagine my surprise, when after installing the mods, that they are quite imainative and fun to play...

I have grabbed about 10 mods that I think looked good, including the new BioWare mods... Some are hack and slash. Some are RPG orientated... A few humorous and a few dark... Single player and multiplayer are available...

I remember when Dungeon Seige started to be modded, but that was mostly cosmetic/uber mods... The NWN mods that I have found are completely different, in the fact that they are actual areas to explore, quests to be fulfilled, etc...

I am just surprised I have not read any posts from others playing these mods... Seeing some of them is making me beleive that BioWare and NWN is actually gonna live up to the hype of being the computer version of D&D, either scripted or DM'ed...

Lets see, you can find these mods at these sites...

http://nwvault.ign.com/index2.shtml

http://nwn.lyoness.com/files/modules.htm

The ones I have started to play are named

The Unrest, The Winds of Eremor,The Golden Dragon...

The Lyoness's website has an extensive module list, nicely indexed along with a description of the what to expect, difficulty, etc...

I am not one to recommend sites without looking at them first, which I did. I am quite impressed with what I saw, and the amount of info available contained within the sites...

Check them out and enjoy the mods...

I played a nice one that is found at NW Vault. It is called the World is Square, and it is a remaking of Final Fantasy 1 for NWN. It uses original music, has all the original items and monsters. It was very cool and kind of nostalgic. Only the first dungeon was implemented, but I'm looking forward to more.

Saltheart,

The only "official" mods I could find for NWN at the bioware site are
The Pre-order module, and the Tournament of Champions. Were there are any others that I missed? thanks

Go to where you downloaded the file. It will be either a zip, or a compressed directory. Open it up. Copy the .mod file into the mods folder in your NWN installation folder. They may also have a .hak file, which will contain music or other additional media. This goes into the HAK folder in NWN.

Yep, there are 3 other official mods from BioWare out there..

Yep, they are the pre-order specials available from BioWare...

Yep, people have been posting them on fan sites, and crediting BioWare for them...

They are as follows... To Heir is Human, The Winds of Eremor, and The Dark Ranger's Treasure...

I have found these on a few fan sites since Friday night... It was not hard to search for them, and they were not hidden in any special area/restricted area of the sites...

Don't know what to say, take them or leave them...

But I must say, Neverwinter Vaults has the most comprehensive and extensive listing of mods so far... There are 1 or 2 other sites running a close race with them for contents...
