The letter from Erzebeth, should have been droped off in the letter box...just after you entered the 'Dragon Spire'. There are no points or other rewards, involved. So you haven't lost anything.

IIRC...it's only supposed to make Haphaestus friendly...
Is he any less friendly....since he didn't get her letter????

How can I get Erzebeth's letter?
I've tried to talk about it to her, but doesn't get anything?
I'm now going to enter into Dragon Spire, do I must have the letter before it?

Seems to me you have to talk to her about Hephaestus. Just go through all the dialogue options, and eventually she'll ask you for a favor.

Well, you can go through the full dialogue with her. I think asking about Haephestus triggers the right words.

If you do have the letter, it shows up as "Erzebette's Letter" in your inventory.

But again, it doesn't really add anything to game play; just links parts of the story together.
