I don't think you can legally download those. However there's this program every computer has and which serves the purpose really well. It writes no code when not needed and there are a lot of tutorials out there to do it. It's not really hard to learn...

Notepad

I think you can download the demo from the website, that's probably all' you'll need cause i think it gives you enough time to finish one website....hopefully

Also consider the lazy approach... use the website template tools your host will provide. I put up a site for a Toastmasters club in about 30 minutes, most of which was spent adjusting the data...

You can then get a book like the HTML Quick Reference that I have on the bookshelf and adjust the HTML code that's created.

Once you've got the basics down, you can go on to the advanced stuff... and pretty much the sky is the limit there

*edit* Forgot to mention that FrontPage Express comes with many Windows environments, and is decent for getting you started. It will also get you started into the Holy Wars of browser-specific web sites... */edit*

Hmm... My main suggestion is that if you don't have access to Dreamweaver, or at least some other decent software of a similar nature (Frontpage, etc), learn a bit of HTML and do it by hand. Don't use MS Word to write up your page, unless you're very masochistic. Word will do some of what you'd need... But when it comes time to edit that page, if you can't do something in word, it'll be very unpleasant to try it by hand; Word adds a huge amount of freaky extra stuff to your HTML. So as one of the previous posters said, go with Notepad and hand-typed HTML.

Edit:
If you don't currently know HTML, www.webmonkey.com might be helpful, from what I remember.

*Just a thought*

If you need some hosting space I do not mind giving you your own space and also help you out in creating your site, but the drawback would be the domain name If you dont want to purchase your own domain name your site would be somthing like http://www.jmjcomputer.com/soccer or whatever you wanted it to be.

Like I said its just a thought.

Best Wishes
Dev.

Well Frontpage comes with the later versions of Office so perhaps you have it on your Office-CD, if you are using Office that is, Xen. Otherwise I believe that a lite version of Frontpage is free, at least it was free some time ago.

Otherwise I agree with philip, notepad is by far the best. And not too hard if you have a tutorial at your side, something like what Bungleau mentioned.
