Russians.. i hate them!! yesterday..

my sis went to work as a shop clerk. when she came back home, she was pretty mad, mad about russians in particular. she said that when estonians came over there, they were very kind and recycled their sweets wrappers and stuff and all sorts of stuff but russians always were rude and didnt recycle. ok, that aint the big reason why im posting this. Later, a russian with his son came inside the store. the man said "Coca cola." my sister asked if they wanted cold or not cold. the man said some groovy words in russian language which my sis didnt understand(she cant speak russian well). the russian said the same words again and again, this time with an angrier voice. the boy looked up to his father and in perfectly understandable estonian language, he said:"Father, why dont you just say that we want "not cold" in estonian?" he answered something in russian language to his son, my sister gave them the cokes. the boy went out inside their car while the man stayed there to talk with my sister. he was shouting at her(in estonian language) and said "Why can`t you speak in russian language? Estonians must learn to speak in russian language!" my sister answered:"No, its not that important. its as same good as learning to speak in portugese or something. and by the way, this is the Estonian Republic." the evil communist said back:"We`ll see how long it stays as a republic." and went away.
The last sentence the russian said("We`ll see how long it stays as a republic." ) is very, very off pissing to estonians because the evil(its fun to say "evil" ) russians has taken over Estonia a lot of times in the history and treated it VERY badly(including WW2 where estonians and Nazi took care of the communist scum). i hate russia! i hate it! i hate it!

one more thing: many people have said that estonian language is very similar to russian language. that is NOT true! we still have the normal letters(and a few extra such as ä,ü,ö,õ, which are right here on my keyboard ). the only language were close to is Finnish.

well don't let that colour your view of ALL Russians . My Maternal Grandmother (who died when I was about 6 or 8) was okay (though she insisted we ate all our veggies before leaving the table [img]smile.gif[/img]

He sounds like a Stalinist or a Marx-Leninist. anyhow, those sort of actions are not fitting with Marx & Engels original vision, so he doesnt really even deserve to be called a true communnist.

A lot of Estonians actually volunteered for the Waffen SS, and many massacres of Jewish people were carried out in Estonia.
The Estonians who volunteered for the SS and those who were complicit in the pogroms where just as much scum as the Stalinists.

BTW As evil as it may have been, without the CCCP, the Nazis would not have been defeated.

You must not take ALL Russians under one cam (spelling)i have some friends in Russia, remember Norway have a border to Russia to and i have had some bad times with them to, but most of the people in Russia is great people and are agains any agression to other states! So maby trie to understand them to they are so poor that they almost can get the food on the table and some have tons of money (criminals) so it is a little nasty i think!

I am sorry that your sister meet this nasty guy but i dont think she meet people like that every day! USS dont hate trie to understand the way they are! Some people IS BORN NASTY but no ALL!!

And look at the bright side you have get your state back and you are no longer under Soviet rules, you are free from them and that is WERY greate i think!!

The thing is, as I understand it, This Russian bloke, since he was in Estonia, he probably felt threatened by the fact that Russians are a minority there, and this fear found it’s expression through leading to hatred of the majority, since he is a minority, also I think that Russians used to hold a lot of power under the soviet union IIRC, so he is probably upset that the former dictators (being people of Russianess) have now lost power to the majority. And thus of this he feels threatened, and will therefore be rude to people.

We have similar problems in southern portions of the U.S. that are near the border to Mexico.
Mexicans come over here knowing little English and expect us to be able to communicate easily with them, like we are all supposed to know it simply because our borders are close and there is a large Hispanic/American population.
Its gotten to where some American communities have "english-only" policies in their communities and schools since english is this countries first language and a lot of Americans don't speak Spanish and don't want to be forced to learn in order to keep immigrants from having to learn english if they are going to live here.
A lot of the Hispanics are offended but hey, I wouldn't go to France and expect the French to speak to me in English!
It goes on everywhere, believe me, but not everyone everywhere thinks that you should know their language just because they live near you.
That customer sounds like he is not just a bit racist against Estonians, but ignorant and impolite as well. I'm sorry your sister had to experience it.

and thats not the reason why i hate russians. theyre just.. evil (propaganda ). a couple of times, they have tried to make our(estonians) official language russian language! that was after WW2, this time with a pen, not a sword(or AK47)

Without the Soviet Union and its unmatched ability to mobilise men and industry towards one end, as engendered by its authoritarian power structure the war in Europe could not have been won by the allies.
And Yes, the Nazis did fight with some Estonians. They raised some Wehrmacht and some Waffen SS units from Estonian nationals to serve them.

That was the Soviet Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Not the Russian federation of today.
