Bulky box, spine, back bone, Whatever. He's The President of the United States, he is always wired. I guess nobody looked at his backside at the first debate. Or, was it better for Mr Kerry that it was not mentioned?

Anytime The President is further than 1m from secret service, he is wired. The secret service do not give him answers to debate, they tell him when to duck, drop roll!

I work with some disabled and physically injured people. It looks a heckuva lot like a back-brace.

Too bad the freakin' liberals are so paranoid they need to come up with a new sladerous story any chance they get, going so far as to make stuff up.

I think this thread is more of a joke than anything else, but some posters seem to take the obvious jibes against Bush really seriously.

Liberals this, liberals that... You people are starting to sound like Ann Coulter.
In any case, it matches "pengate" by sheer stupidity*, I'll give you that... Just keep in mind that both liberals and conservatives have their share of complete idiots.

* Footage from Fox News (!) helped us determine that Kerry took out a *gasp* pen, so Matt Drudge was just being his moronic self again - though not before numerous repubs jumped on the bandwagon and made a fool of themselves on the Internet. Not here though, luckily.

"It also denied some web reports that Mr Bush was wearing a bullet-proof vest."

Do you think they'd admit if he was? Personally, I doubt any president ever goes out in public without a vest anymore. They just don't want it publicized because the prez is supposed to appear fearless. JMO... I also have to agree that the most powerful man in the country would have access to smaller comm units.

Krunchy and Morgan, I'm rather liberal. Note that I took Bush's side here. How would you feel if I said conservatives do nothing but make generalizations about liberals all day long?

Much as I dislike Bush, I don't believe all this 'he was wearing a wire' stuff. I suspect it was nothing more than the zipper on his human costume.
