hmm, I do not actually work now, but there are some ok jobs you can do while in high school. working at fast food joints are the best really... ok seriously, I do not know what is good to work at as a teenager, because once you strart working, you lose your weekends off, no matter if they say you can have them off or not...

Are you at all into computers, Gxc?

I got my CCNA from the community college when I was in high school, and got a part time job as an assistant network administrator at the same college

That was good work -- hard, but awesome money. I made way more money in high school than I'm getting now...

Restaurants, retail, manual labor, services... if you want, go to your local mall and start asking for applications. I did that in my youth, and in one afternoon, with only stopping in at around thirty stores (one after the other), I got two jobs -- a food store and the movies.

One suggestion: print up a sheet with your basic information (name, address, school background, references, etc.) to bring with you. That can save you a lot of time in filling out applications.

Note: Don't ask if they're accepting applications. Instead, ask for an application. Minor sales technique, but you don't want to ask a yes/no question unless you know the answer already.

I work for a large Antivirus company, however if you are in school usually the Fast Food or Retail markets will be good for you.

If your into computers try some gaming or computer shops.

If your after anything that pays then fast food. (sure the pay won't be much but its more than your getting at the moment)

Just type up your references and go round to places you would like to work part time and ask to speak to the HR manager or and in your refrences to the store manager.

I worked general construction during the summers after school and before football camp. During the school year I worked at a warehouse part time, real good pay, like twice what the other kids made at fast food. How far are you from a big airport or air freight terminal? You can make double digits x 4 hrs working hard. Or you can make minimum x 6 hrs working in a hot kitchen. The options are yours.

Go into retail and supermarkets. And get jobs before the summer, before college students come back and take all the needed jobs.

Also, if you can't drive yet, and your parents live on a hectic schedule, get a job preferably near your home so you can
a) walk when you can't get a ride
b) make the trip quick for your parents.

Most part-time jobs offer discounts for family. So, it is always to your advantage to get a job at the local supermarket to save money on your food bill. Or any other frequently shopped area.
