He did deserve it. Maybe not death, but if you are going to kill a dog, for the right reasons, you do it properley and quickly. YOU DO NOT BEAT IT TO DEATH.

What a moron.

1) You don't beat a dog to death, you shoot it - he had a loaded gun why didn't he shoot it instead? Aside from the moral issues, he could very well get bitten or worse.

2) Gun safety - guns aren't clubs, if you're going to use it as a club at the very least make sure it's unloaded!

Where I come from, if I dog bites you, you put it down. (Unless it's very young and trainable; or perhaps if it's a hunting dog)

For one thing, if the dog bites someone else you could get sued or worse.
