To be honest, i never used those people, but from what ive heard safana is the best.

Quayle is a thief ?? i thought he was a cleric/illusionist, but if hes a illu/thief, maybe it would be more fun to play than safana...

Safana is in my opinion the best thief althoughImoen who you get from the bginning is good, but at the end of the day Saf has the sexier voice!

If you're going to get TotSC you'll need Safana as she'll be a better thief and you will need her in Durlag's tower. If you'r only going into BG w/out the expansion get Quayle, as his other talents make him handy even if the voice isn't as "chub-worthy" and he whines a lot.

yeah, I agree, Safana would be the best out of that group. She is easier to find too. Nothing like personality to brighten you day, and weigh down your purse.

Errr....can't you resurrect Imoen? Or did a critical hit kill her?
Otherwise, like others have said, pick Safana.

Quayle from memory is actually a Illusionist/Cleric is he not?

Safana is an excellent thief, well worth the effort and I preferred her to Imoen or Alora. Skie was pretty hopeless, and Tiax unecessary because I had Clerics so didn't need a cleric/thief, and then Montarons poor fighting made one of his two classes deficient, so I normally ditched him.

However for value for money you can't go past CORAN. An elven fighter/thief (a hunter he calls himself I believe). Better damage with a bow, great thief skill distribution, very good. I'd alway pick up Safana and then replace her with Coran. (Didn't really use Imoen)

I would rate them

1. Coran (elf fighter/thief)
2. Safana (human thief)
3. Imoen (human thief - dual to mage?)
4. Alora (halfling thief)
5. Montaron (halfling fighter/thief)
6. Tiax (mad gnome cleric/thief)
7. Skie (human thief)

You guys are forgetting about the strongest thief in the game - dualclassed Shar teel. So, she is evil. Just keep your reputation down to 18 and you won't have any problems. I dualclassed her at level 6, she is now level 7 thief with 4 stars in small swords. I can't wait to see her backstab someone.

Didn't forget, I just hate dual-classing.
