All the problems I see people having make me think: I'll likely be getting a new system soon - good news for playing Dungeon Lords, which will probably be resource hungry, but bad news for replaying W&W. Seems that anyone who has a new-ish system has big trouble getting the thing to work!
I'm on a laptop with win XP, but otherwise my stuff is a couple of years old - Radeon 32 meg video card, directX from 2002 (I can't even remember what version!), standard mobile sound card, 256 ram... Seems anything better than this gives you a 50-50 chance of failure!

I have reinstalled but to no avail.. This time it would not install at all!!
As in the first disk installed, it asked for the second disk and stoped when it reached a file called speech.dat I found this file and put it on but the game did what it usually does when I do something like kill man traps. On the upside killing something like the rat ninjas will not freeze the game
