I was wondering if people check out members profiles when posting.
There are many times when responses end up unintentionally funny because the gender of a poster wasn't checked or known. Other times knowing the approximate age of who you are responding to can be helpful.
A 40 year old might look at a post and think "how can someone be so juvenile".
If the post was from a 13 year old the response would obviously be understandable. In the same manner a 15 year old might wonder how someone could be so computer illiterate or out of touch.

I feel IW is an extended family, all ages, faiths, genders, and world wide.
Using this information enables us to get along better.

Does anybody else have any thoughts on the subject?

I use it when i'm not exactly sure if i'm talking to a guy or a girl. In the beginning i didn't do that, and i called Epona "dude" for some time. I figured Epona was a guy because of all the threads related to alcohol she was in in those days. Little did i know. Same thing happened with Kaz, i thought that was a guy too. LOL

When I first registered here back in 2000, I wanted to use the name Zekke, but figured people would not know my gender, and not wanting anyone to say "how's it goin bro" or some such LOL, I stuck the "Lady" in the front.
