Way back in August 2000 I found IW from searching for BG1 stuff. Got onto the forum the next month for a bit, then got lost to school for a while.

I can't remember...
Except that when I first visited it was the old board (you know, the one that's all blue) and I was thinking to myself, "Now if only they switched to UBB instead."

ah, you want to hear my epic tale of my journey into these grand halls?
Okay then, i was searching around on Lycos for help with Icewind Dale. after finding a few loser sites, i found IronWorks. i overlooked the IWD maps section and went right to the forums knowing them to be of good help in the past. i originally intended it to be a 1-post thing, but as it always happens i got drawn in by all you nice people, even though i preferred to stay on BG2 for awhile...

------------------
It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

What are you saying? Are you trying to tell me you have feelings now? Ha, ha, ha... Stop acting as if you're sad. And there's no need to act as if you're angry either. Because, Cloud, you are... a puppet.

Was looking for help with BGII last year. Went on Yahoo, typed in "Baldurs Gate 2 walkthroughs". Found Ironworks

I found Ironworks through a Metacrawler search for Baldur's Gate II
cheats. I hung around the BGII forum for a while before I was
brave enough to post in GD.

I was sitting in front of my computer with my bag of cheetos on my left and my sweet little kitty on a chair to my right. She had an orange head for some odd reason. She gave me that heavy lidded look that meant some scratchin behind her ears was the prescription for what she was suffering from. I was wandering around the internet looking for creative ways to play Baldur’s Gate II. (cheat) I had already checked both Phillies.com and Eaglesnet.com, so they were out of the way. I found ironworks and read the walkthroughs by Dan Simpson. He is a genius!! When I found the forum link, I clicked on it to see a wonderful world of conversation. People were being friendly with other people and the mods were actually nice. I scratched my formidable forehead and left little cheesy marks on it. Miranda was on her back with legs up in the air. She was singing the happy happy scratch my belly song. Normally, she is a long haired, black and white cat, but much of the white was somewhat orange due to the sweet sweet lovin we were sharing. She was drooling steadily and could barely keep her eyes open as I clicked on so many threads. I was astounded at the dancing graphics. I saw so many folks who were a lot like myself. No, I didn’t cry. But, a contented sigh did emanate from my furry frame when I signed up and I posted.

Now, 1 out of every 8 of my posts actually get read and that’s enough for me. I’m just enjoying being in the presence of such greatness and munificence.
