Dragon Ball Z gives anime a good name? I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that it's by far one of the most awkwardly senile, mass-produced shows I've ever zapped by. I've got a lot of anime fans among my friends unfortunately, but even they avoid Dragonball Z like the plague.

DBZ isn't as bad as you may think.

It is often overlooked and mocked as a kids anime, but that is far from the truth. Sure, the animation is B-grade, the dubbed American speech is terrible and the characters spend most of their time yelling and screaming, but DBZ is one of the most addictive animes I have ever seen. It only looks kiddy because all of the blood, swearing and sexual references have been taken out, and is therefore shown at hours appropriate for children. The original, uncut versions of Dragonball and Dragonball Z however, are great examples of anime; a decent concept and story, cool characters, funny moments and perhaps the most noticable element, the amazing action scenes! The Transformers rocked! Gundam Wing and uncut DBZ was pretty good too. The kiddy anime shows are hilarious. Like when I was watching Pokemon with my little cousin, every 2 minutes, the characters spontaneously flipped upside down and developed tear shaped tumours on their heads.

I especially loved FLCL and Evangelion. Another great series I recomend is Photon, from the makers of Tenchi. it's like Tenchi only with totally differint characters and alot more super powers and comedy. Others shows at the moment that I like are Neo Ranga, Wild Arms, the FF TV series, and Full Metal Panic

What really bugs me is that there are a lot of good anime shows, movies and the like, but they just don't make it a habit showing them on the movie channels. Only animes shown to date are usually on Cartoon Network.
