(More) Spam that hurts...

I just the minute got an email that spake thus:

"hey it's anna, how you been sexy? i liked talking to you
last night, when i got disconnected i forgot to send you my pics.
My Pics Click Here
XOXOAnna <3"

And I couldn't help but remember the previous spam that hurts thread. This kind of spam could really do damage...It's a good job I'm the only one who uses my computer...

Oh man, don't start. i get dozens of those each and every day. I wonder where the hell it's all coming from. Ever been offered a penis enlargement before ? Well, i get them on a daily basis. I'm getting soooo tired of all that crap.

I agree. Through the mail this spam would result in a very good lawsuit. But do you want to involve regulators?

I'm really surprised that there are people who for some silly reason think I'd be interested in purchasing penis enlargement products *and* breast enhancers.

Yes yes, penis enlargements, university diplomas, porn and all that stuff. If I dont check my mail in a week I got around 100 junk mails waiting for me when I log in. So how did they get your email adress?
Oh theres billions of ways. Some get them trough cookies on certian webpages or even banners that uses a certian spyware. Also when you register for something know that there is a market out ther that consists of email adresses. Companies buy and trade lists of email adresses and this is why you get tons of junk mail. Oh and dont even bother to try to unsubscribe. That way you will only tell them that your mail adress is valid and recive twice as much spam. THe worst thing is that theres nothing you can do about it. Sure hotmail offers a BLOCK function. But you can only block 250 email adresses, which you will bypass within a week. So you just got to live with it...

I get a variety of spam everyday...from penis enlargement to "never shave again" to viagra to people-wanting-to-chat to car insurance to university diplomas and many many many more...

The point that I was making on the original thread and I think mojo is making as well, is that unlike a normal add, however gross, this type of message could easily be misinterpreted by someone not so used to the internet. And in my case it was by my poor wife.

It is a vile and antagonistic form of advertising. Why not just say "hi I’m Anna wanna see me naked"

Do you guys give your e-mail out alot through online sites, promotions and things?

I have several e-mails.
1. my hotmail (this is the one I use when giving my e-mail out online, or entering contest and things) This one ends up being filled with all kinds, porn, promotions, that I do not want.
2. excite - This should be like hotmail but I only give it out to friends and nothing ever goes in there except what friends send me.
3. Then their is my main e-mail which is business related, or family. I get a few promotions but they are relevant and I usually asked for them.
