Is it possible in W&W to move forward in time somehow? Is it possible to "rest" somewhere? Suppose it is night and it is not recommended to explore the area during night. The only thing I have found out is to pause the game outside the town and to go to watch TV. After seeing some stupidities there, go back to the game, unpause, and see how far the night proceeded. Return to TV . There must be a better way or am I mistaken?

The best way to spend a night is in a crypt or castle or dungeon - don't need to worry about the day / night thing in there.

At the very start of the game I would have liked to rest. After learning Illuminate (or if you have kitty in your party) exploring at night is fun too! There is no real way within the game to "rest".

another way to kill time is to talk to the people outside of the town.

I believe the real time is 2 hours per night

Once you get Illuminate, as Wyvern says, nights aren't a problem...AND you get better random monster spawns (and sometimes better treasure drops, too). I notice I get a heckuva lot more spiders at night...
