Okay...try any of these or a combination.

First...humans tend to drink less water in the winter time. So, add more water to your diet.

Second...good natural moisturizers are sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, and primrose oil.

Third...vitamin E capsules.

Fourth...add baking soda to your bath..unless you shower.

I have other remedies if you want them...I do alot of reading

Here is an idea, just avoid the winter entirely!! Lock yourself in except to go to work, go to the bar, and go home. Its hard to get dry winter skin if you hide from winter.

My fiance uses verite on her face and cetaphil on the rest of her, She has chronic dry skin/eczema and these seem to help. She gets verite (pronounced veri-tay) at the make-up counter at macys and cetaphil at walgreens.

Why don't you like SecretMaster Larry? Vitamin E is what makes a wet dog smell the way it does. That's how they discovered it in the first place. But please: SecretMaster " My skin is so soft and supple yet everyone seems to hold their nose and run away. I wonder why."

It always seems to be dry up here too: one time it was -47 with windchill.

I would say I keep myself "moist" (doesn't that sound kind of dirty ) by moving around alot. Constant bathing, while always a good thing, helps. Also, drink lots of water.

By the way...about the shower thing...in the winter, we tend to take hotter showers...the hot water is bad for our skin as well. Try to not take showers so hot...or if you do, at least close the shower with a last touch of cooler water.

One thing you can do if you like those hot showers - instead of drying off, use oil on your skin to keep the moisture in and dry naturally (wearing a robe is a good idea).

I use Aveeno - one of those dermatologist recommended moisturizers. Works really well and hypoallergenic. If you have sensitive skin (I sure do!), this is great stuff.

Always wear a moisturizer after bath/shower, and use a lip balm. Very helpful. I spent too many winters up north and know what you are dealing with, friend. Good luck.
