I was getting pretty bored of my 100-stat-point-total human ranger, and didn't want wait to dual him to a cleric. So, I chucked the game and started over as a half-elf cleric/ranger. On the very first roll (before I clicked anything) he had 98 total ability points:

Half-elf Cleric/Ranger

STR: 18/06
DEX: 18
CON: 18
INT: 12
WIS: 18
CHA: 14

Now, I know I could have given him higher CHA and lower INT, but CHA=14 is enough to get some of the more important dialogue options, and INT=12 is just high enough that I can get a 5% lore bump after chugging a potion of genius or mind focusing.

Otto,

Congrats! That's a very impressive roll, even if you had rolled two hours to get it. On the first roll? Wow!

Thats it. Otto, you are leading a blessed life. Who are you bribing?

Is this guy going solo? Looks like he is. Heck, you may just delete all your other guys after getting a roll like that and soloing anyhow.

It is good roll, but that 18/06 str... You can have +3 damage or so, when you get 18/91 + str.
It is more important than INT or CHA for cleric/ranger

Having higher exceptional STR might better for a pure fighter, but for a ranger/cleric it doesn't make much of a difference in terms of overall character effectiveness. Most of the time he'll be juiced up to STR=19 or higher from buff spells and potions of giant strength. Also, later in the game, there are gauntlets and belts that give STR=18/00 or STR=19. With the higher INT and CHA, he's at least a mediocre dialogue character.

Soothsayer,
That's quite a signature you've got there. Very impressive.

On a sadder note, my computer crashed last week and lost all my IWD game data, including my miracle stat roll character.

Seriously bad luck with your crashing...what can we say?

PS: Otto, if you want a sig, email me a 600x100 jpg at
