My current main character, Mingan the Wild Mage is unable to hit anyone in combat. I can order him to attack, the combat music starts, but he never actually tries to hit anything.
He doesn't look blind, he can cast spells fine (well, as fine as any wild mage), but he can't attack. I'm patched.

Is the AI on? If yes, what script is he using?

The AI is on, but he has no script. Toggling AI on and off and changing scripts doesn't do anything.

Turn off the AI. Go to your options menu. Go to gameplay->feedback. Activate the "To Hit Rolls" option. Go back to your game. Ask your Wild Mage to attack a party member. Wait 2-3 rounds( 12-18 seconds). Do any diceroll numbers appear in the dialogue box?

No hit rolls. They do appear when someone else hits, but not the main character.
edit: Apparently, if I use the Cloak of the Sewers to transform into something else, I can attack just fine. And when I transform back to human, it stops working. another edit: I just checked his character sheet, and his attacks per round is set to 0. That would explain it. I guess I'll have to hack it back. How many attacks per round does a level 9 wild mage get? [ 05-20-2006, 08:30 AM: Message edited by: Iron Greasel ]

Set to zero? Huh? Did you try to edit your Wild Mage beforehand or added some mods?

Edit? No. I have a bunch of mods, the ones I recall are Kelsey, Song and Silence and Dungeon B Gone. But nothing that should affect it.
Perhaps it could be some really weird surge or a bugged item? I think I'll first strip him and cast a few dispell magics on him.

I haven't. He has a custom portrait, but that is all I have done to modify him.
I think it started sometime during Mekraths quest to kill the imp. I recall throwing MMM's prior to that.

Sometimes after throwing MMMs I notice that my character won't attack, either, but it's fixable by going to the inventory screen and rearming or clicking on my weapon a couple of times in the main screen and then attacking.
