Hey all! I just had a great time going through Ziroc's Undermountain module of NWN. With my level 7 bard....through to level 6 of his maps.....and how? you ask....and well you may! Ziroc's mod is TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH!

I was standing around in his tavern, totally lost when someone asked me to join a party, so I said sure. Then we talked, they said "oh..level seven..you're either brave or a fool!" But Valdor Gesh and Death (level 20+ ) not only accepted Alassra into their party but came BACK two levels to find me! They then shepherded me through some incredible scenery and very tough monsters, traps and surprises til we reached level 6 where a glitch or connection bug sent me out of the game and I couldn't get back in.

I thanked them while we were racing through levels. Valdor said "We were all newbies at one time, all excited by the adventure!"

Not everyone would do what these two gamers did. They didn't need to herd a wandering Bard through the Underdark, but they did. Chivalry, generosity, sheer NICENESS, whatever you call it, I'm glad to know there are people who take time to help total strangers, even with something as simple as a computer game.

Thanks you guys, whoever you were!!! (I know they aren't from any forum, just liked to play the game.)

Good to hear there are still some nice guys around. Last time I playe C-strike online me and some female somewhere were flamed out of the game. She because she was female, me because I was using a RL name instead of some made up handle.

I gave up on online play after that. And not just because my sucky modem gives me an obscene amount of lag.

LOL! They actually flamed you because you were using a propper name? Some people take these things way too seriously. *Snigger* one thing that allways makes me laugh is that fact that people who call themselves "Gandalf" think their clever! ROFLMAO!!!
(Not many people share my opinion on that though. I cant figure out why...)

Yes there are a lot of nice people on the NWN servers and then there are those people in the NWN chat thingey in the multiplayer who use swear words so vulgar that it mase me hope I never RP with them...

*snicker* some people take their gaming waaaaaayyyy to ..... snobishly. I can't see why people take elitist attitudes over gender or handle. I thought the purpose was to have fun.

Aaaaaah Cloudy, you should have met me online in Darkstone. Once I had reached a level where I was basically unstoppable, my primary function was to act as a "bodyguard" for less experienced players. I let them fight all the monsters and get all the exp / loot. The only time I stepped in was if they were getting swarmed.

But then again, I am exceedingly nice

Cloudy, that is so nice! I'm glad you had a great experience like that, and it shows that online players are not aren't all slimeball p-killers. Mouse, kudos for you, too. You should be a Templar or something like that.

Cheers,

My only problem now is that every time I try to log onto the Undermountain Project, I get disconnected before I finish getting in!

Anyone got any ideas why that happens? I had trouble at the end of my time there last night. Just as we crossed into level 6 my screen went odd- showed me the portrait of the guy who was leading the party and I had sound difficulties, (echoing repeats of the water sound) then my game crashed.

Ever since then I can't get back in! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Im no NWNs expert - the extent of my knowledge is that it dosent like my graphics card - but 2 things come to mind. First - can you join a multiplayer game other than the undermountain mod? Second - Under your NWN foler there may be something along the lines of a cache folder. Clear it, if there is. And try with a different character as well.

Glad it worked for you Cloudbringer, but I'm not one to take the chance. It's Single-Player only for me.

Has anyone tried the online game Astonia? I met a very helpful player there too. Led me through some parts of the areas where I had apparently lost a key, and tried to retrieve it for me... we still couldn't locate it in the end, but he was really sweet throughout
