Congrats Link, i know it's a pretty intense sport, i've done it myself a couple of times, excellent muscle training. Except in a kano, i've done that once and i ended up upside down. That was in De Efteling, under influence of dope and alcohol, and i had to walk around in soaking wet clothes for the rest of the day.

.. and people thought you were part of the Fata Morgana attraction, didn't they

To be frank, I'm quite surprised to see you've done some rowing yourself. Or should I understand this with the hindsight that the Dutch encompass a whole lot more in the word 'rowing' than I would? I know most rowing clubs in the Netherlands, so just shout out a name and I will probably recognize it (and because you're from Utrecht, I will have to guess Viking).

On the intensity, yes, rowing is quite an intense sport. I think it was a feeling of pride that I felt, when the American narrator for the men's eights in Athens said that a rowing regatta equals three basketball games. I'd like to talk to the people who consider curling a great 'sport'!

Well, I'm a happy camper today! My husband just called to say he's starting work on Monday!

Now we just need to get a roofer to fix the broken shingles on the house and things are going well!

Heh, no, not for any club, and not in one of them streamlined rowingboats, but in the ones people normally use to go fishing. It was more or less for fun, but we did races with them among ourselves. It's not what you meant, but it's rowing nonetheless, so i know it can be damn exhausting.
