Help files? I've never really used the help files, but maybe I should. I might just say how to change the language. But most of the commands are pretty obvious and the icons help too.

edit: Well, when I checked, I noticed that I dont have any help files either.

GIMP help files don't seem to exist. But, in my opinion, they would be redundant anyway. The interface is extremely easy to use, and self-explanatory.

dplax, just because an uncompressed bitmap (generally associated with *.bmp) is an image doesn't mean it should go on the web. The only images that should ever be shown in a webpage are GIF, JPEG, and PNG - this is a W3C thing.

When did I, or anyone else, mention IE? And I do not go on IE-bashing crusades, or atleast not in the way that you seem to think.

first you start on the W3C and then the conversation will move to IE not paying attention to any "laws" layed out by the W3C

The W3C is the single most important body in the web. And, no, IE doesn't listen to them on several key points, even though Microsoft helped to create the initial standards. The W3C don't make laws, per se, only what they call "recomendations", but the point is that IE's refusal to follow them makes it very hard for web designers.
And before you complain, remember that you brought this up.
