Hi there,

I'm planning a warrior character who is able to pick locks also. The problem is my INT is 30. If I take security as major it's 35. Will my security get to 36? I ask it because my int is 30. How can I raise my int? With multiplier of course. Too bad I'm a fighter/rogue type and INT skills are alchemy, conjuration, enchantment and security. Only security is my type. And security does not increase fast. What can I do?

Let's make a conclusion.

1-How can I increase my security fast?

2-My security will not get to 36, right? (because my int is 30)

3-A warrior with low mana can increase enchantment, conjuration and alchemy? How?

4-35 Security will do the trick at first levels?

Well first, train in something that Int governs, like Alchemy. Train in 10 times, then level up. You will get +5 to Int that way. Here is how getting points works. For every 2 times the skill is increased, you'll get a +1 on it (max is 5). You shouldn't get to 36, until you get your Int up there. I don't believe it'd be at 35, but maybe it is. Getting security up high fast is training. The main solution is Train, Train, Train.

here is what INT govern :
Alchemy
Conjuration
Enchant
Security

so if your INT is 30 but your security is 35, train something that INT govern first. like Secretmaster explain above.

Question Mark

That's the biggest problem. INT governs alchemy, conjuration, enchantment and security. But I'm not a spellcaster character so only security is close to me. I better train security.

Thanks for replies. A strange thing happened, I like to share it with you. I'm a nord my int is 30. If I take security as minor it starts at 20 or something and it does not get beyond 30 becauase my INT is 30. The thing is, if I take security as MAJOR it starts at 35 and I can incraese my security (even with training!) to 36, 37 and on.. but my INT is 30. Is it a bug? It has an explanation?

Unless security is different I'd say that is a bug. I have my major skill limited by it's governing attribute.

Have a little patience, do some quests here and there, and your skills will improve along the way. I play a Redguard, they're not good pickpocketers to begin with, but i've developed my skills and am now at 100. There isn't a thing i can't steal or a door i can't open.

Okay, thats a bug. But the reason minor starts lower is because it is minor. When its a major skill, you get a +10 on that skill and it increases doubly fast.

Not quite, you can't train a skill higher than a governing attribute through a trainer. You can improve through practice though. Maybe books too, not sure.

eyup, you can still increase a skill way pass it's governing attribute by pratice and by reading books.

however, if you can increase it pass governing stat via teahcer. then it's a bug.
