On the final movie, right at the end of the movie it shows an Elf in a cloak, a Dwarf, and a human, I just thought maybe that is drizzt, Bruenor, and Wulfgar?

you'd think they could put them to rest already.

Retire them. Put them out to pasture. Come up with another character or two...

Drizzt Do'Urden and friends are classics. You cant just invent classics. They were there even before Bioware or black Isle even made a forgoten realms game, they were part of the creation of Forgotten Realms games.

Tanis Half Elven, Raistlin Majere, Caramon Majere were all "classics"... they don't cart them out for every game.

How 'bout Hank, Bobby, Eric and Company?

I am also well aware that they/forgotten realms existed before Black Isle... I've been playing since the Red Beginner/Blue Expert Boxes came out before Forgotten Realms.

As for "reinventing the classics", did I ask they be reinvented? Given a Jenny Jones makeover?

I read the first 7 or 8 of the books- and they got progressively worst after the completion of the first trilogy. Like the Batman movies they sacrificed character development for big name characters.

The same tired Drow and Demon enemies crop up like Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger... oh, it's Matron Baen're. Again. Yawn. An invincible army. again. Artemis Entreri, again.

You would think with a new game, new system it's time for some new blood.

I guess they do need them, however, or a good chunk of the game's players would be incapable of coming up with their own "character identity" devoid of the usual suspects.

I agree with obsidian, Drizzt and crew are classic characters and as long as Salvatore keeps writing them I'l keep reading them.
