Here's an idea for you:

Go in with aragorn and forget about buffs. Immediately run to the weapons and grab whatever. Then, get to the middle of the room and start slicing away. As soon as you see the "flaming donut", immediately pause and run to the nearest corner. As soon as the flamestrike hits, run back to the middle and repeat. It *should* work, though you really don't have any of what I would consider optimal characters for this area.

Now, you could just try the evil path and kill the whole monastery, I'm not sure of any repurcussions for doing so...

This is an hard fight.

The first time I succeded, it was with my Thiefling FIghter/Rogue because she had 5 resistance against fire.

She won with 2 health left and another flamestrike about to hit.

Success! Finally! YEEEEESH!
I went in with my Aragorn, cast Prot. from Fire and got lucky. The Brass Monks rolled very poorly this particular time and I got some good shots in dual-wielding swords and Power Attack 3. I also used Marty4's strategy of running to the center and then to the corners of the room to avoid the Flame strikes. Thank you Marty4 and everyone else for your suggestions!

Marty4, what was the useful item in the monestary shop you referred to earlier? Do you mean in the library?

ah, next time, if you find that you are rolling poorly and am using a dual wielder, you might consider letting them fight with one sword to reduce the attack penalty so they have a slightly better chance at hitting.

I was referring to the How To Be an Adventurer's guide, the powerful tome that gives you a permanent +10,000 xp.

No prob. Don't worry too much about that quest, IIRC it isn't worth trying to turn yourself into a diplomat. Of course, if you had a monk you could just teach her yourself...

As far as I remember, when I got at the monastery the first time, I walked around randomly, unlocked his door, saw and read the journal, and walking in the next room saying "I found this incriminating journal in your personal things!".

Luvian,
Wrong people. Finky is talking about the student who was thrown out of class. She resides in the barracks practicing her moves. If you have enough Diplomacy, you can convience Svaltid to take her back (I think) or if you have a Monk w/ 10 or more levels you can teach her what she needs to know. I did the latter since I'm soloing a Monk.
