Hmmm... I've never tried equipping that before.
Things I'd try (and you may have, but let's spell 'em out): 1. Go to the temple and select "uncurse". An afflicted character image should show up in the display 2. Go to the quest-giver (Miruth?) to see if he recognizes the quest as being complete. If he does, he should take the dagger. 3. Try casting Exorcism at full blast on the cursed character. That may remove it. In all cases, make sure you have an available inventory spot for the Fang. Nothing worse than just losing it 'cause you had no inventory room And if worst comes to worst, you can consider hacking the game to remove it. That may be a bit involved, not to mention unproven, so a better solution may be to use the reverse time spell and reload a save from prior to equipping it. You do have old saves, don't you? Remember the Gael Serran motto: Save early, save often save before, save after Let us know...

Hi,
Tonight I found that I couldn't uncurse & remove an item unless there was room for it in my inventory. I didn't -lose- the item, but nothing happened when I got the temple to remove the curse. The display said that the curse was removed, but I was still holding the item. I made room for it in the inventory, and paid the temple to remove it again, and lo! the remove curse worked this time... It wasn't a quest item, but it might be a pointer for you... Melb_Wiz. |

Hmmmmmmm.
Exorcism should work fine (as would all the other options) but it's cheaper. Hope it all works out, Moiraine Sedai

In my experience, the Exorcism spell CANNOT remove equipped cursed items! Only the temple and, perhaps, a quest giver if it is a quest item can remove the items! The Exorcism spell can cure, for example, Insanity.
IIRC, I tried it with the Stone Clover. My inventory wasn't full.

radek has struck back again! and as i recall too, exorcism does remove insanity and MAYBE other status effects, but even if the name means "removing devils" or something like that , i dont think it can remove cursed items as radek said.....
btw, has anyone found out what status effects Exorcism removes besides insanity?

The little tome of misinformation (aka the manual) indicates that Exorcism can also remove curses. It doesn't, however, give any details about what that means. I have never used it (always using the temple), but in responding, I included it in case it might actually work.

Well exorcism does remove curses or possessions from its target. Unfortunately you can't target items in your inventory, something the programmers forgot, so it shouldn't work on cursed items, since it isn't the character (target) that is cursed. Did that make any sense?
Glad you figured it out Ed. Perhaps you ought to post a copy of your finding in the Best tip thread. |

Actually, it doesn't look like Ed has figured it out yet. But I agree -- that tip from Melb_wiz should make its way into best tips.
