Yes, I know, I shouldn't really cheat, but all I want to do is level up my character by one level in order to complete all the henchman quests in Chapter 3 (Words of Power). Now, I've given in Debug Mode=1 in the .ini file, and I know how to bring up the command console and everything...however...when I type in GiveXP [amount] or GiveLevel [amount] and click on my character to initiate the cheat, he continually levels up. I only want to level up once! Any idea how to achieve that?

Oh, before anyone asks, the reason I can't level up naturally is I need almost 6000XP and I have exhausted all the quests. I am one step away from the next and final chapter of the game. I must have respawned too many times...that'll teach me to quicksave more often...

I was never able to figure out the cheat commands and get them to work without causing trouble, so I used the toolset to build what I needed and imported that char. into my game. If he needed to be stronger, I just took him back and upped him some more.

If this bug is causing you trouble try giving your char 1000xp. If he continues to receive that amount every round then wait until you have reached the desired 6000xp and save the game. Then load and it should have stopped.

If you do that, I would advise you to save that in a special file. You don't want to take any chances.

Well, my char levels up instantly whether I give him 1 or 6000XP...really odd. But I'll try saving the game after he's done it once, thanks SpiritWarrior!

Yeah, I'll back up my save first. Cheers, Illumina.

Larry: But if you do that, since I'm doing the single player storyline, doesn't that mean I have to start an Act at the beginning to use my levelled up exported character? Because I remember wanting to give my character new weapons, but there is no way to import a character into an existing saved game, is there? Thanks anyway, Larry!

EDIT:Ugh, even after saving and loading the game he still levels up continuously! This getting really frustrating...all I want is one level up! Thanks, guys, for your help...

Any more ideas?

EDIT2:...um...I feel kinda stupid now, but the whole problem arose because I actually input the number in the command console in the brackets - []. I now know that you simply put the number in...heh...sorry for wasting your time. I apologise.

I need to press the ´ button left of Backspace to enter the console, not tilde. I also seem to have to press left Shift at the same time, and with a liitle work; get the console up. It should look something like this >_ .

I assume you've already put "Dubug Mode=1" in the nwn.ini file...following that, I was told to press the ~ button, but that didn't work for me...the button I had to press was indeed the ` button, but mine is on the left of the 1 key. Try your equivalent of that button...otherwise, pressing random buttons in a certain memorable sequence works...it's how I found mine.
