i would have to say most of the middle-east. im not a big fan of sand and deserts, so i just cant get into it. i visited Egypt once, it was nice, but just too damn sandy. i dont even like to go to the beach anymore though, heh.

Mexico would make a nominee...nothing is worse than overpopulated slums where people's homes are literally built out of trash but there are also third world countries that differ little.

the desert didn't bother me (I was in the Cairo area, visting from Kuwait) but the trash everywhere was what got to me, I'm not sure which country is the worst everywhere has bad things about it, so I'd have to say anything not in Idaho

Italy, without a doubt (of the one's I've been to that is )
In Italy, most people don't really care how their houses look from the outside as long as it's fine on the inside.
You could see a house from a distans and wonder if someone really lived in that piece of junk, and then you went in and it was as good as any four star hotel

My vote is Turkey. If anybody has visited any of the shanty towns will know exactly what I'm on about... or maybe even one of the African third world countries.

Imagine nominating a country only to receive a stiff reply from one or more IW members who happen to come from that country -- this thread would quickly turn into a flame-war and the mods would quickly come and lock it up.

In view of this, I thnk we would do well to think at least twice before starting threads of this nature.
