Best 'Mage' Items?

Hi I am a fighter/mage/cleric and i just wondered if there is any really good items for that class?

Well, that also depends. You see, there are many good items in the different item-classes, so if you can tell us which weapons you are proficent in, there will be much easier for us to help you.

get the staff of magi!!!! the robe of vecna and the boots of speed (the best mage items) for the fighter ya should get the armour of the heart and if ya want some cleric items get the staff of the magi!!

ROBE OF VECNA!!! ROBE OF VECNA!!! ROBE OF VECNA!!!

It's an item from Diedrie in the adventurers mart (Bonus merchants either on a disk with the collectors edition or i think you can download them from team BG). It gives you 10% magic resistance, sets you AC to 4, but most importantly reduces spellcasting time by 4! With that you can get most spells of instantly (Great for when you get time stop and improved alcrity at a later stage!)

robe of vecna isnt a normal item though have to either of got the actual edition or cheat to get it. belt of inertial barrier is good,ring of gaxx, ring of accuity/wizardry, cloak of mirrors, boots of speed, greenstone amulet, robe of evil/nuetral/good arcgmagi, staff of magi, and i think you can wear the pale green ioun stone, also gauntlets of weapon expertise.

Staff of Magi: Toughest fight (maybe) in the game at the twisted Runes, u take on: Powerfuk Mage, Lich, Vampire, Beholder, and a Fighter.

Vecna Robe: Shops in Xtra CD

Ring of Wizardry: can't really remember

She seems to come with the ToB patch!

Yes, that's correct. Deidre comes in both ToB and in the Bonus Merchants patch, while Joluv comes in only the Bonus Merchants patch.

Sorry Mate... Gotta disagree with you

... I always do that fight in Chapter 2 or 3 with reasonably low XP characters... sure its VERY hard at that time... but all in all it is QUITE do-able at that level.
