Mine is at 20 right now and it's harder and harder to get it higher. I spent
thousands and thousands of gold coins for it and also lots of quests. I'm
afraid that, passed 20, it'd cost me over 10,000 gold just to get one more point.

How high can you go? I thought 20 was the limit.

Concider your position before running out to boost your rep to the maximum... your reaction ajustment to evil ppl will plummet for every point over 17, and your neutral party members will complain if your rep hits 18.

BTW if you look around you can get yet another point on your rep from trademeet (a total of +3) making one of the idea places to go early in the game if your playing a good party.

The book has the donation amounts required to raise your rep, through 18. Although one of the jumps (15 to 16?) has the wrong amount.

Also, another way to boot your rep to 20 should you have the cash and a rep of 18 is take Viconia into the group, which will lower your rep to 16. By it up to 18. Then let Viconia go and you drop the -2 penalty giving you a rep of 20. The cost is outweighed in the savings you get buying equipment.

I've never considered the bad side of it. All I wanted was to push it as high as it could. I guess you might have a point there and one that might be very interesting because my restart of a new game with a team that is not-that-good, might run into problems if I increase my reputation too high. All I know, is that I keep getting tanks from my present team from time to time, they all are happy to have joined such a Good team. I once tried to kill just about everyone out there just to see how they would react, and god they didn't like this hack-away attitude :] Valygar was the first to really be repulsed by my actions. I wonder what would have happened if I killed those cats in the Lower town? They are obviously not doing their job since the whole town is infested with rats!

Oh! And why can't I talk to a cow? It could at least mooo back at me or, dump some gift on my shoes.
